Myth No. 1:
“Sinhale started after the
arrival of prince Vijaya from North India while Tamils were there in Lanka
before him”
This is such a lie and
distortion of facts. Archaeological proof clearly shows that Lanka was
inhabited by the human as early as 900,000 BC. Since then, there is solid
archaeological evidence to prove that Lankans, who called themselves Hela
people, were trying very hard to advance themselves into a civilization. Hela
as Lanka was known at the time, was in the forefront of human progress in the
region.
Dravidians arrived in India
only around 7500 BC from somewhere in Mediterranean. Archaeologists have proof
that Lankans had an established culture in existence by this time.
Meanwhile the Dravidians
merged into the native Indian tribes all over India. When Aryans from the areas
around Caspian Sea arrived in North India in 1500 BC, the Dravidians in the
north mixed into the stronger Aryan culture. Dravidians survived the Aryan
integration in South India as Aryans stopped in North India.
It is quite possible that
later on, migrants and visitors arrived from all parts of India to Sri Lanka
and vise versa as happens between any two countries. It is fair to say that
from this point onwards there must have been some migration of South Indian
Dravidians to Lanka as merchants. With them the Dravidian religion Hinduism
must have arrived in Lanka just like the way other Indian religions such as
Jainism arrived in Lanka. But these were NOT the native religion of the
Lankans. Hela people practiced their own religions.
Prince Vijaya who landed in
Lanka in 483BC, only took control of one of the towns and then mixed into this
Hela civilization. Many such Indian migrants brought their religions to Lanka.
Sinhalese ( derived from Sihalese – Sivu Helaya ) didn’t start from Vijaya
onwards. Hela was always there in Sri
Lanka, from the beginning.
Subsequently, after Sri Lanka
became the centre of Buddhism, there were continuous migrations of the North
Indian Buddhists from North Indian Aryan Kingdoms to Lanka. All these North
Indian migrants, unlike the other migrants such as the ones from the South
Indian Dravidian kingdoms, mixed into the Sihalese civilization adopting
Sinhalese culture and principles of life. None of these North Indians formed
ethnic ghettos in one corner of the island.
The great qualities of the
Sinhalese which made Sinhalese unique people in the world, were introduced at
two points of history. First, King Pandukabaya introduced the very first
National qualities of the Sinhalese in 375 BC. Then, 129 years later, during
King Devanampiyatissa’s reign, the great National philosophy which placed Lanka
in the developed world, was introduced.
Myth No. 2: There is a
Sinhala-Tamil problem in Sri Lanka.
Even Dutugemunu-Elara was a
Sinhala-Tamil war
This is also a lie made
public by those who wanted to create a Sinhala-Tamil ethnic war.
Dutugemunu liberated Lanka
from the 2nd invasion. The invaders were a South Indian mercenary
force, led by one South Indian Warlord named Elara. ( Unlike in Sri Lanka, the
mercenary career was a popular job for many South Indians. It was easy to
conspire, fight & destroy, than to be understanding, patient &
creative).
There were Lankans who
couldn’t exploit the people or the resources of Lanka to their selfish
advantage because of the great National philosophy. Many local and foreign
merchants, Power-hungry ministers, corrupt officials, rich and powerful
regional families were among these selfish corrupt Lankans. There is proof that
they hired South Indian warlords to come and destroy the government in Sri
Lanka. Then together with the invader, they ruled Sri Lanka until the patriots
liberated the country again.
This is what Dutugemunu, like
millions of other patriots, fought against. Elara had many infantry and cavalry
units manned by the jobless Sinhalese hired by these rich Sinhalese families.
Many selfish corrupt Sinhalese were part of the Elara’s rule. They worked as
Ministers, Generals, and officials. They fought against Dutugemunu’s liberation
army. There is no doubt that there were South Indian descendants and half South
Indian, Half Lankan patriots serving in the Dutugemunu’s liberation army. When
they fought they called the opponent by any derogatory name. Any Lankan patriot
would have called the South Indian mercenary “a worthless Damila” and the
selfish corrupt Lankan who served Elara’s army as “a treacherous greedy
coward”.
During the British period,
those who wanted an ethnic separation, twisted this part of history so as to
portray this as a Sinhala-Tamil war.
Myth No. 3: North &
East of Sri Lanka is the Tamil homeland
Many communities around the
world have different customs, philosophies, religions, habits, practices, and
beliefs. Naturally, all these communities have one place in the world which is
regarded as their homeland. In this homeland, their way of culture is normally
the main culture. The national philosophies, political, social, and trade
policies of the country are all derived from this main culture. All other
communities who live in such countries live under their system, with basic and
sufficient human and civic rights to practice their own culture, within the
society based on the main culture.
For example, in countries
like USA, UK, Canada, and Australia, which are favourite migrant destinations
these days, there is a main culture. That is based on the western society.
There are dozens of different cultures in existence in these countries. But
these cultures cannot change or override the practices of the main culture.
These foreign cultures can co-exist, in sufficient and limited ways so as not
to be a threat to the main culture of the country, in ethnic or religious
venues and events. The foreign migrants who practice these foreign cultures
have all basic human and civil rights, but they can never challenge or try to
change the main culture of the land. Likewise, Sri Lanka also has their unique
society based on the great national philosophy. All non-Sinhalese who lived in
Lanka enjoyed this. No other minority in anywhere else in the world enjoyed a
better multi-culturism. They benefited
from this non-discriminatory philosophy more than any foreigner who lived in
any other country. Time to time, this great system was weakened by the
invaders and the selfish corrupt collaborators.
But in Sri Lanka there is a
conspiracy backed by foreign organizations to despise and humble the main
culture. Some missionaries who arrived with the Portuguese invaders initiated
this. But it developed into a well-organized, very well researched, and very
well planned campaign during the British occupation. Missionaries had Lanka’s
Best Educational system in Jaffna peninsula while the Sinhalese patriots fought
and died to free the country. This anti-Sinhala campaign intensified as
graduates of the Missionary education system in the Jaffna peninsula, worked
their way into the higher and powerful echelons of the Sri Lankan society. Even
today, foreign agents sponsor these political, religious and terrorist leaders
from minority communities against the native culture. With that enormous
foreign funding, they have been engaged in propaganda against the rights of the
main culture. The result is today that the whole world believes that North and
East is the homeland of the Tamils.
Even if the Sinhalese lived
there for 1000 years, Tamilnadu would never allow one third of Tamilnadu to be
separated as a Sinhalese homeland when Sri Lanka, which is home to the unique
Sinhalese civilization, is only 40 km away.
Many South Indian invaders
and traders took residence in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Singapore. Since British
times, they either migrated to or were forcibly taken as workers to South
Africa, Canada, Australia and Europe. Would these countries allow these Tamil
descendants to claim parts of these countries as a Tamil homeland ? Would these
countries, apart from the basic human rights and civil liberties, even listen
to the unfair racist Tamil demands such as the ones demanded in Sri Lanka?
Imagine if Indonesian
warlords and kings had invaded Australia 26 times during the last 2500 years.
Let us assume that the prisoners were allowed to live in Northern territory so
that they could visit their relatives and friends easily. Would Australia ever
allow any of these descendants to claim Northern territory, QLD and NSW as the
homeland of the Indonesians?
Tamil homeland is actually in the Tamilnadu state in South India, which is several times the
size of Sri Lanka. That is where the Tamil culture and the religion should be
the way of the state.
Myth No. 4: Tamils should
have exclusive rights in the North & East
It is such an injustice to
think that Tamils have exclusive rights in the north & East. Through out
history, all Sri Lankans, including the Sinhalese and the non-Sinhalese were
born, lived and died in all parts Sri Lanka.
South Indian descendants
preferred to live in the northern most tip of the land because it was easier to
cross into South India to visit their relatives and friends. When the
prosperity of Lanka made many families rich, some rich south Indian families in
Jaffna began to dream of more power. They hired, or sometimes collaborated
with, the South Indian warlords and kings to invade Lanka. When the invader
made the central government weak, these families claimed self-rule in Jaffna.
This also happened in Kalutara, Kandy, Colombo, and in many areas of Ruhuna.
This warlord rule was NOT limited to Jaffna peninsula alone. It is ridiculous to portray this warlord
rule as a Tamil rule of Sri Lanka.
If Tamil community should get
a separate homeland, why shouldn’t other communities get their own homelands
too? In that case, Burgher community might prefer the district of Colombo.
Muslim community might prefer parts of the east and the south west. Sinhalese
could claim whole of Sri Lanka because historical and archaeological evidence
prove their rights all over Sri Lanka. What do we do when these areas overlap
with one another? Is Sri Lanka large enough for this kind of separations? Who
really wants this and funds these conspirators?
Colombo district has over
3305 persons per square kilometer. But Trinco,
Batticaloa, Ampara, and Kilinochchi districts have less than 190 persons per
square kilometer. Vavuniya and Mannar districts have less than 100 people per
square kilometer. Mulaitivu district has
only 50 persons per kilometer. Is it right to own these lands by one ethnic
group as a "traditional homeland" ? Where else can the other Sri
Lankans migrate to ? Where else can other Sri Lankans cultivate ? There is
simply not enough room left in the rest of the country.
After
all, these are the lands inhabited by all Lankans ever since the beginning of
the civilisation, until the majority Sinhalese were driven out of these areas
in horrific ethnic cleansing.
Even
after the ethnic cleansing by Kalinga Magha in 1216 AD, after the Great
massacre of the Sinhalese in Jaffna in 1478 AD, after the Sinhalese of the east
were weakened during the British period, and despite repeated LTTE attacks,
many brave Sinhalese still remain in these areas for these areas are as much a
traditional homeland to them as it is to others who had lived in these areas.
In
Trincomalee, the proposed capital city of the mythical Tamil kingdom, more than
90% of the people in Padaviya, Gomarankadawala, and Seruwila are all Sinhalese.
82.8% of the people in Moraweva are Sinhalese. More than 79% of the people in
Kantalai are Sinhalese. In cleared areas of the Vavuniya district, 98.7% are
Sinhalese. In seven divisions of Ampara district, more than 98% of the
population is Sinhalese.
(Please
consider all these and more statistics available at government institutions.
Invisible forces who had infiltrated into the system taking advantage of the
open multi-culturism, do not allow these data to be published.)
Myth No. 5: Sinhala-Tamil
conflict has a long history
There never was a Sinhala-
Tamil conflict as such. There were selfish South Indians who lived in Lanka who
were notorious for their lack of loyalty. When the state was powerful they
would seek to serve in the Lankan govt. When the invaders landed they would
join the invaders. When the invaders rule Lanka, they would collaborate hard to
impress the invader and to gain titles and positions. When the patriots
including the good South Indians living in Lanka, liberated the country they
would become loyal again. ( It is important to mention that there were such
Sinhalese as well. Then there were other foreign descendants like the Persians,
Greeks, Afghans, Phoenicians, Middle Easterners, Burmese, and the Chinese who
collaborated with the invader in order to obtain trade opportunities.)
The much publicized campaigns
by King Parakramabahu-6 were only efforts to unite the country. Some rich
regional families in Jaffna rebelled against the central government around 1450
AD. Since the horrendous destruction in the 22nd invasion ( Kalingha
Maghas) the central government was hopelessly weak. These regional families
enjoyed rebel rule in their tiny town “kingdoms” until the central government
liberated the land and the people again. These are what any other government in
any other country would have done and would do. No country or government would
tolerate parts of the country to be ruled by selfish rich families. Eelamists
are portraying these as Sinhala invasions of the Tamil homeland.
There never was a
Sinhala-Tamil conflict. Whoever harassed, beat-up, or killed a Tamil in Sri
Lanka would do the same to a Sinhalese who would dare to complain about the
injustice, unfairness or oppression. Arrogant, selfish, and corrupt members of
the Sri Lanka’s ruling class who were most of the time funded, and advised by
the foreign organizations, targeted all Sri Lankans including Tamils and
Sinhalese in order to maintain their oppressive system. Through out history,
there was always the conflict between the good (those who believed in the great
National philosophy which guaranteed the success of ALL Sri Lankans) and the
bad (those who were after selfish personal ambitions).
Myth No. 6:
Sri Lanka should have taken
example from India and kept English as the main language
“India retained English
language without forcing the language of the majority on the minorities.
Therefore Sinhala shouldn’t have been the state
language”. This is also such a distortion of facts.
In India, there are over 1600
languages. Of them, only 18 are major ones. Of them, India officially
recognized 16. All these languages are unique to local areas and are spoken by
culturally, and racially unique communities. In Sri Lanka, there aren’t more
than half a dozen languages (including minor ones like Arabic). Of them, three
are major ones (Sinhalese, Tamil, English) and they are officially recognized.
In India, there is no
majority as such. Hindi language spoken
ONLY BY 39% of the Indian population, has been made the ONLY official language
of India. English is ONLY one of the associated languages for official
purposes.
In Sri Lanka, 78% of the
population is the Sinhalese. Sinhalese are clearly the majority who had
endeavored real hard to maintain their native civilization through thick and
thin. In Sri Lanka, though Sinhala language is the mother tongue of the 78% of
the population, BOTH Tamil AND English are used as officially recognized
languages. ( If someone really wants to compare India and Sri Lanka, then
Sinhala language should become the ONLY official language in Sri Lanka. But the
Sinhalese had not done that. )
Myth No. 7: Sri Lanka should have taken example from India and
adopted a Federal System
“Sri Lanka must have Federal
politics by having ruling power delegated to the local states”
India : India needs local rule
India is a vast area
consisting of thousand different cultures and many religions that formed
hundreds of separate kingdoms. (Even the smallest of these kingdoms were
generally larger than Sri Lanka). Time to time, these kingdoms were brought
together under one rule, by the military power of one of the kingdoms or by the
invaders. At all other times, these kingdoms remained politically independent.
When British left, Indian Central Government HAD TO recognise that fact in
order to form the large country of India. That was why the Indian Central Govt
was created with the 97 most important responsibilities of a country such as
defence, foreign affairs, banking, customs, currency, and communication. The
Local Governments which rule the 25 States divided into 7 territories, has 66
responsibilities such as limited armed police, education, agriculture, public
health. 47 other important responsibilities such as economic, labour and social
planning and economic controls are shared between the Local Govts and the
Central Government so that the central government has good control over them.
At no point the Indian
Central Govt has allowed any loop holes for an area to break away from the
central government on an ethnic basis. Since 1955, Indian central Govt has
introduced rules to stop Tamil Separatism in South India. Dravidian hardliners in South India protested
against Hindi, a language spoken only by 39% of the Indian population, becoming
the ONLY official language of India. ( English is ONLY an associated language
for official purposes in India ).
Responding to vigorous campaigns in South India
for a Separate Dravidian state and the use of Tamil language, Nehru introduced
the 16th amendment forcing the Govt officials to take an oath to uphold
sovereignty and integrity of India.
This prevented treachery by the South Indian
govt officials.
Sri Lanka is yet to introduce such laws to stop
the treachery of the minority political and religious leaders.
Sri Lanka : Sri Lanka does NOT need Local rules
Unlike India, Sri Lanka was a
comparatively tiny, ONE SINGLE civilisation with a unique culture and a state
religion. (Even today, after so many
destructions, the Sinhalese are 78% of the population. Sinhalese have been
chased away from the north and the east of Sri Lanka in bloody ethnic cleansing
since 1025 AD. These facts have been covered up by shrewd propaganda). It was
only when the Lankan government was weak, that the local chiefs from all
corners of Sri Lanka including the north, the west, the east and the south,
became warlords and refused to PAY TAXES. Then these warlords, simply because
they were NOT challenged, claimed to be KINGS in their tiny little fantasy TOWN
KINGDOMS ( Such as the ones in several towns of Ruhuna, Kalutara, Colombo,
Kandy and, how can we forget, Jaffna ). Ruled by opportunistic, power hungry rebel
leaders who were usually the ex-employees of the central government, these were
NOT states or local kingdoms with separate racial, political or cultural
identities. They thrived specially when Sri Lanka was under the invader’s rule.
While the Sinhalese patriots were busy fighting the powerful invaders, these
selfish rebels had such a jolly good time that they even forgot that they were
robbing the country of the unity. Now such rebel rule is publicized as Tamil
kingdoms by the Eelam propaganda machine and their friends in the media.
Myth No. 8:
20 years of war has proved
that Sri Lanka cannot win the war against the Tamil Tigers
To be frank, never did Sri
Lanka wage the anti-terrorist war that was needed to destroy the Tamil racist
militancy. There were many reasons.
Firstly, quite unaware, silent and invisible Tamil and non-Tamil
Eelamists were living, working and making decisions in Sri Lanka. They were
inside the most important and top secret decision-making levels of the politics
and business circles and even inside security forces and intelligence services.
Other than spying on behalf of the Eelamists and misdirecting the whole nation
on a losing path of destruction, they made sure no Sri Lankan was ever able to
convince or implement the necessary overall strategy.
Secondly, the international
forces who operate in Sri Lanka didn’t want a patriotic war that could bring
patriots to power. Supporting these Eelamists were these international forces,
which are nowadays not-so-secret, who funded and maintained a set of agents in
Sri Lanka to influence national policies to their advantage. Ever since the
British invaders left in 1948, these invisible spy services and international
religious organizations have been using these agents to make sure no patriotic
system is established in Sri Lanka by the patriots.
Thanks to these treacherous
conspirators, no Sri Lankan government was ever able to assess the threat of
Eelam accurately. Therefore they failed to formulate the necessary overall
strategy. Thereby, helped by these traitors who posed themselves as caring and
concerned advisers, the Governments waged an unsuitable and a costly war where
state funds were wasted without even reaching the poor and helpless solders in
the fields.
As foreign donor organizations
gave loans as aid to Sri Lanka, foreign arms agents recruited greedy, selfish
Sri Lankans who organized bribes to everyone from the very top to the very
bottom. Having never read or properly understood such basic manuals such as Sun
Tzu’s “The Art of Warfare” or tactical and strategic lessons from history, they
bought unnecessary military hardware. Sometimes
it was the arms seller himself who introduced military strategies into this
so-called war so that he could sell his products. Bribery kept many mouths
shut. To many of those who were in power, it was just another way to pocket in
state funds during their term in office.
Poor and bewildered soldiers
discovered the inadequacy of the military strategy in the field, most of the
time paying the ultimate price. Tamil Tigers were able to convince to the whole
world in massive propaganda campaigns that Sri Lankan Army could not win
against them. Many senior military officers were excellent administrators,
sportsmen, musicians, singers and businessmen. There were only a few whose
interests included at least the history of warfare. Trapped in a wrong
strategy, unable to understand or implement the correct overall strategy, they
couldn’t explain the battle defeats to the world or to the governments. In turn,
Government couldn’t explain these military failures to the people. Therefore,
both the senior military officers and the Government covered up the military
debacles. Tigers had a field day celebrating their beefed up image thanks to
this cover-up.
Even today only a handful of
top officers can explain the real tactics under which areas like Pooneryn,
Mulativu, Vanni, and Elephant Pass were allowed to fall into terrorist hands.
In Sri Lanka’s defence establishment, there is hardly anyone who could describe
even the truly important, basic incidents in military history, like what
Egyptian Pharoes did to liberate their country from the invaders, how the
Assyrians became the World’s first empire, the length to which the Spartans
went to maintain their national defence, how Alexander who was able to conquer
everyone, was stopped in North India, how what Romans did to survive the Celtic
invaders helped them to become an empire later, how primitive societies like
Huns under Atila and then Mongols under Ghengis Khan were able to achieve such
impossible heights, how Viking selfishness and greed altered the history of
Europe forever, the interesting truth about the crusades, the fall of Dien Bien
Phu, and finally American failure in Vietnam. Without this knowledge, war
against the Eelamists would only get more solders killed and more military
hardware lost or destroyed in the bloody fields of north and east.
If you can, try to sit down
with the senior defence officials and have a chat. See what their personal
interests are. Several true warriors tried to change the system, but failed.
They weren’t powerful enough to override those Sri Lankan agents hired by the
foreign spy services and religious organizations or their henchmen.
Apart from some incidents
which gave positive results thanks to other reasons such as timely suicidal
sacrifices and sheer luck, the necessary war was never waged against the LTTE.
It had been a continuous waste of young patriotic lives, and state funds.
Frontline soldiers who came home on their leave, revealed this untold story to
their friends in their villages. This is why, despite the high unemployment
rate, the army struggled to find enough recruits. Sri Lankan youth will never
fight under an unsuitable strategy which the traitors themselves had helped to
design.
The war against the Tamil
racist militancy can only be won in
Colombo.
What is happening in the
fields of the north and the east, is just the shadow of the secret war that has
been waged in Colombo by the most shameless traitors of the post independence
era. These traitors remain powerful because they get paid enormous amounts of
funds by the front organizations of the foreign spy services and religious
institutions with which they can manipulate the entire system.
Myth No. 9:
Economy and prosperity will
be devastated if Sri Lanka tries to fight a war against the LTTE
It wasn’t the war that
destroyed the economy. The highest defence expenditure, even at the height of
Operation Jayasikurui was around One Billion US dollars per year. Normally the
annual defence expenditure remained around $700,000 to $850,000. This is
nothing compared to the commissions made, state funds stolen through
corruption, and exorbitant expenses allowed for projects with lesser priority.
The military strategy
required to face the threat of Eelam needed only a fraction of this amount. The
talented officers of the armed forces have shown what this strategy is. It is
yet to be heard and fully implemented. It involves restructuring the
organization of the country’s armed forces and a radical change of strategy.
This change of multi-pronged strategy involves not only the military front. It
demands changes to country’s political, social and economic philosophies. This
change very badly affects many fraudsters who thrive in Colombo exploiting the
nation and the resources. Together with the Eelamists, they successfully barred
the necessary strategy from being implemented. This only led Sri Lanka to utter
chaos, defeatism, and poverty, as we had seen during the last fifteen years.
The nation, one day, MUST get to know who these traitors are.
Because the military strategy
that was adopted was not what was needed, there was heavy reliance on firepower
and equipment to compensate for the inadequacy of the strategy. Both these cost
a staggering amount of money. Superpowers like America, who have designed new
equipments for anti-terrorist warfare, could afford such expensive military
hardware. But for a poor third world country like Sri Lanka, to depend on
tactics that required such equipment was suicidal.
Poor Sri Lanka tried to
follow anti-terrorist and counter-guerilla tactics designed in the western
military academies without the necessary military hardware in sufficient
quantities. For example, American air mobile tactics were adopted without
sufficient numbers of helicopters. Tamil tigers were able to gather thousands
to outnumber them. So called gunship support involved only one or two
helicopters which were helpless against concentrated ground fire. Training
methods were too harsh for the poor boys who had suffered from malnutrition all
their lives. Nation wasn’t even aware of the gallantry that their soldiers had
to come up with in order to fight the most organized, very well supported, best
motivated, ruthless guerilla organization in the world. All this happened while
the LTTE had their agents and sympathizers within the Government, and in the
multi-cultural Sri Lankan society supplying them with information, neutralizing
the mind of the rest of the Sri Lankans and
sabotaging patriotic actions.
All equipment on which the
strategy was based, and that was needed at crucial times, was in short supply.
This made their use impractical and ineffective under tiger’s pre-planned
attacks. In such situations, it was not practical to coordinate their use which
was essential for any success. Thus, whole tactics failed at decisive moments
leaving the poor soldiers who were trapped by the enemy, to their own devices.
A whole country and a 19 million people couldn’t do anything to save them. Such
helplessness at crucial times of battle only led to the troops to suffer irreparable mental damage, inhuman pain, cruel torture or death.
That was how they lost confidence in the entire system and in the society. Only
reason why they didn’t crack up the way the Vietnam veterans did in America,
was because of the Buddhist upbringing and influence that many of them had
during their childhood while attending the Sunday schools in their village
temples. Once they went home, the angry survivors wouldn’t return to the army.
Many blinded with anger, disappointment and frustration, suffering from
post-traumatic disorders, found shelter in underworld thug gangs taking revenge
on a society that had let them down.
Government Embassies abroad,
and National intelligence services were all infiltrated by the enemies with the
help of the unpatriotic local agents hired by the foreign organizations. With
the failure or the ineffective actions of these government institutions, the
soldiers bore the full brunt of the Eelamists strength. Half of the nation
waited until someone else’s children fought for their freedom. More were
willing to hand over the country to any devil in order to maintain their social
status, social class, businesses, and political power.
Media and the artists were not
utilized to bring the nation under one philosophy. Instead, they were hired by
the enemy to make movies, dramas and an artists front against anyone or any
thing that stood against the Eelamists. This not only
demoralized the soldiers, it demoralized a whole nation.
In times of trouble, the
patriotism of the social elite decides the fate of the nation. Unfortunately
for Sri Lanka, only a few from the social elite made a genuine effort to
research, formulate plans and action what was necessary. First priority of the
affluent class was to maintain their social class status intact. The middle
class pursued higher studies or business avenues taking examples form the
elite. It was the poor and the lower middle class who fought for the country.
They neither had money nor the strength to face the LTTE. Yet they fought on
year after year, sacrificing their little resources, future and lives while the
others chose to improve their social status through education and wealth-gathering.
Talented militarymen
who could understand these and formulate necessary counter-measures, were
sidelined, or were silenced with cold warnings, or were forced to retire early.
Once the new UNP government
under Ranil Wickramasingha came to office in 2000, their dependence on foreign
masters earned them an influx of foreign investments which boosted up the
wealth of the Colombo elite and the provincial business class. The share market
improved as those powerful foreign organizations were able to channel foreign
investors to Sri Lanka. Actually only about 1% of the Sri Lankan population got
to enjoy the benefits of this bubble economy. Their employees and henchmen also
received a pittance which they considered a heaven sent blessing. Meanwhile the
rest of the Sri Lankan workforce worked like slaves whole day for inadequate
monthly salaries between Rs.2500 and Rs.6000.
For an economy like Sri
Lanka’s to be truly strong, it must be based on a solid agricultural base, then
a manufacturing and an industry sector. The commerce should be based only on
those two solid foundations. But in Sri Lanka the foreign masters who helped
the new government into power in 2000 AD, artificially boosted up Sri Lanka’s
economy. They brought in foreign investors to create a bubble economy.
Sri Lanka’s agriculture
remains sabotaged and gradually destroyed. Manufacturing and industrial sector
is dwindling without attention. Yet the bubble economy based on commerce
flourishes. But this depends on the attention the foreign investors give to Sri
Lanka. That means dancing to their tunes. This explains the bizarre stand of
the Colombo elite, the merchant class of Sri Lanka when it comes to their
priorities. To them, having had to depend on the foreign masters, patriotism
and future of the nation has become secondary.
If they don’t listen to the
demands of the foreign masters, their businesses wouldn’t flourish. Without
business income, their position in the society, and their fairy tale lifestyles
would collapse. This is why they seem to agree to all the deadly, suicidal and
destructive measures imposed upon Sri Lanka by the foreign masters.
If Sri Lankan government tries to
wage war by taking foreign advices and ignoring the necessary strategy as
proposed by the sons of the nation, they will lose again.
You may train the poor Sri Lankan
soldiers in the best training academies in USA, UK, India, China or Pakistan.
But without the necessary overall strategy, they will only get massacred again,
and again.
You may buy the most expensive,
latest, or sophisticated military equipment. Yet, without the necessary overall
strategy, they will only get destroyed, or captured by the LTTE in the fields
of the north and the east.
At the end, LTTE will emerge not
only victorious but they will be stronger in all aspects than the bankrupt,
shocked and confused Sri Lankan government. Subsequently the nation will fall.
The elite and the merchant class will make deals with the Eelamists
and the LTTE for their survival. Sri Lanka will end up being ruled by the LTTE
and the Eelamists.
This is the cold hard truth whether
we like it or not.
We all want to avoid this
destruction. So apply pressure on the politicians, officials and merchants to
stand against the Sri Lankan agents hired by the foreign organizations to
implement what is necessary.
Myth No.10:
All this is the fault of the
Sinhalese themselves : Sinhalese live in a Mahavansa mentality believing that
they own Sri Lanka.
This is another favourite
line of those who lost the colonial privileges and would love to pass the blame
on to the Sinhalese civilization.
This problem didn’t start
because the politico thugs went on a rampage in July 1983. This problem didn’t
start because some arrogant and oppressive militarymen
and policemen who were trained to be butchers by the politicians and foreign
agents kicked, baton-charged and in some cases murdered some Tamil civilians.
It is important to remember that these butchers have
killed more Sinhalese than Tamils.
More than 60,000 Sinhalese young men and women who mostly spoke against the
injustices and the oppression in Sri Lanka, were massacred without mercy by
these butchers during 1988 and 1989. This was done under the cover of
destroying the JVP, which was a Marxist political party that tried to topple
the government in 1988. JVP was largely an unarmed organization having less
than 30 youths who had some kind of weapon training. Yet over 60,000 Sinhalese
young men and women were murdered on lists supplied by political henchmen and
religious extremists. The gravity of this conspiracy to kill as many Sinhalese
youth as possible under the cover of suppressing the JVP becomes apparent when
compared to the total number of Tamils killed during the last 20 years. For every Tamil killed, three Sinhalese have
been killed by the selfish, corrupt elements from the ruling class during the
last 20 years. Only 17,000 Tamil tigers have been killed since 1980. Even
in a guerilla war that went horribly wrong due to the wrong strategy adopted,
only 23,000 soldiers have lost their lives. These figures alone would show the
magnitude of the massacre the Sinhalese were subjected to.
While making Sinhala the
official language within 24 hours overnight in 1956 made life difficult for
many of those who had been alienated from the Sinhala language for 500 years,
this problem didn’t start because of the Sinhala language becoming the official
language.
This problem didn’t start
because Tamil racist political parties failed to obtain their rebel kingdoms
for the north in the post-1948 era. This problem didn’t start because Jaffna
had the best educational system in Lanka under the British. This problem didn’t
start because that great education system produced a great percentage of Tamil
educated elite in Sri Lankan society who badly wanted to maintain their
artificial positions in the society.
This problem started in 796
AD when some selfish, greedy regional families got together to defy the central
government when the government was weakened by the invaders. These selfish corrupt
families refused to remit the taxes collected from the area to the central
government. And this hunger for power was not limited to selfish rich families
of the Jaffna peninsula. Many other families from Kandy, Colombo, Kalutara, and
many areas of Ruhuna have rebelled against the central government whenever the
central government was weak. In all these cases, the central government did
what any other government in this world would have done, and would do. That was
to free those areas from the rebel rule and to make sure all Sri Lankans,
including the Sinhalese, can live, and work in those areas without fear and
racism.
Sinhalese are only doing what
any other native civilization would do when their rights and the survival are
threatened and stolen by conspirators. Sinhalese concerns are not racism. A
good analysis would show that Sinhalese have reacted with far better patience
and tolerance, thanks to Buddhism, than how most of other native communities
would behave in such circumstances.
Sinhalese do have the
Mahavansa mentality without which the Sinhalese are not Sinhalese. Sinhalese
are one of the few native majority communities in the world who maintained a
genuine multi-cultural society where everyone could live, and benefit under
their good philosophy. This ensured the continuity of the nation. Sinhalese
culture, philosophy and the civilisation are unique to Sri Lanka. Their history
is as old as 900,000 years. Their written history alone, which matches
perfectly well with foreign records and archaeological findings, goes back to
2500 years. The Sinhalese culture is one of the World’s oldest, continuous,
unchanged cultures in existence. Their written history in Mahavansa is regarded
as the Second-most remarkable history in existence of an ancient and cultured
civilization and their dynasty. It is second only to the records maintained by
the Shu Chinese emperors. Yet Sinhalese remain one of
the most discriminated communities in the world. Their survival has been
threatened because of the predictable Buddhist tolerance, patience,
understanding and the principles of life, which they tend to practice as
Buddhists.
It was the minorities who got
to enjoy the unique qualities and the national philosophy more than the
Sinhalese. Unfortunately the same foreigners, who benefited from the Sinhalese
tolerance, had been taking advantage of these qualities with ingratitude and
disrespect.
As one of world’s important
and exemplary cultures in existence, Sinhalese do have their traditional and
historical right to the country as a civilization unique to Sri Lanka alone.
That doesn’t mean that others do not have communal, civil and human rights. It
is the current ruling class that sometimes violates the human and civil rights
of the rest of the Sri Lankans. This current ruling
class is influenced and controlled by the local agents hired by foreign
organizations. This makes the politicians and the state officials unable to
react promptly to implement what is right. This inaction, or late, ineffective
action leads to communal or civil clashes at the grass root levels. Though over
70% of the Sri Lankan population are Buddhists, only about 30% of the ruling
class consists of true Buddhists. There are more non-Sinhalese in the ruling
class than the non-Sinhalese ethnic and religious ratios of the total
population of Sri Lanka. Therefore, ruling class is not Sinhalese alone. Many
Muslims, Hindu Tamils, Tamil Christians, and Sinhalese Christians dominate the
ruling class. How the current ruling class governs the country is not the
beautiful and fair multi-cultural society created by that great national
philosophy of the Sinhalese.
Sinhalese shouldn’t be blamed for
such failures of democracy or the bad governance.
Sinhalese are the only native
majority in the world with a philosophy that allows the minorities the biggest
possible opportunities available. The problem is that the minorities, led and
brainwashed by power-hungry racists, are NOT aware of the true history. These
selfish minority leaders refuse to recognize the rights of the Sinhalese. That
is the basic root cause of this problem in Sri Lanka.
The importance of the
Sinhalese civilization can best be described in the words of the Tamil
philosopher Ananda Kumaraswamy who, while testifying at the Manning Commission
under the British invaders in 1906, said
“Take anything from this
country. But please don’t corrupt or destroy that beautiful Sinhalese culture
that survives in villages. Because someday when you, with your greedy and
selfish policies, destroy this world both materially and spiritually, the
answer to rebuild that ruined world can only be found in that beautiful
Sinhalese philosophy.”
That is what the poor
Sinhalese are trying to protect for future generations whether they are
Sinhalese or not. They are branded as racists, chauvinists, and warmongers by,
if you do a close analysis, no one else but real racists, actual chauvinists,
and genuine warmongers with thug and militant mentality…….!
Brave Sinhalese never accept
injustice or the fraudsters who cause that, just because they are STRONG……!!!!
How such lies were made acceptable to the whole world
?
There are several media
consultancy firms in this world that have been set up either by OR with strong
connections to political, multi-national
business and religious institutions that truly rules the world. One need only
to hand them cash and tell them what opinion the international public should
have on an issue. As long as this new opinion doesn’t clash with the policies
or the national interests of the world superpowers, these media consultancy
firms are able to establish that opinion in the hearts and minds of the
international community.
These International media
consultants can control, manipulate or simply buy the international media to
achieve their goal. This is why the very obvious South Indian racist separatism
in Sri Lanka has been portrayed as a Sinhala-Tamil ethnic problem by the
international media.
In addition to this, many
Eelamists have joined, or have formed associations with international aid,
human rights, civic, and religious organizations. Through these personal
contacts, they influence and brainwash the foreigners who work in these
organizations. They also use these foreigners and these organizations to the
advantage of the Eelam cause. Sri Lankan Government
institutions such as foreign missions and media units who are supposed to be
countering these conspiracies have been neutralized by the appointment of
well-paid and looked after selfish or corrupt traitors and enemy agents.
Power-hungry politicians with their highest priority political goals don’t dare
to challenge them.
That is how these ten main
myths and many other misconceptions have been established in the hearts and
minds of the people around us.
Thus the fraud continues,
almost unchallenged and unopposed.
The accuracy of your opinion
depends on how much facts you have gathered. This is why there are so many
opinions while there is only one truth.
