· A modest crowed of about one hundred Sri Lankans were out on Sunday September 18^th, a perfect weather day, in the vicinity of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, to protest against LTTE. Organizers timed this event to have it at the same time when the United Nations 60^th Anniversary General Assembly was taking place. No doubt it was a “head turner” for many dignitaries who were passing by in stretched limousines. The protesters were peacefully holding placards to show the world that Killing of former Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadiragamer once again proves that they are not serious of giving up violence. Also the demonstration was conducted to point out all the illegal activities of LTTE like,

· Continuous killing of political opponents.

· Continuous recruitment of child soldiers

· Continuous arms buildup.

· Organizers pointed out the importance of conducting demonstrations in leading cities of the world to cripple fund raising activities of LTTE and its front organizations like TRO. Over 500 fliers were distributed to passes by.
